Where?

“The value of a soul, who can estimate? Would you know its worth, go to Gethsemane, and there watch with Christ through those hours of anguish, when He sweat as it were great drops of blood. Look upon the Saviour uplifted on the cross. Hear that despairing cry, "My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?" Mark 15:34. Look upon the wounded head, the pierced side, the marred feet. Remember that Christ risked all. For our redemption, heaven itself was imperiled. At the foot of the cross, remembering that for one sinner Christ would have laid down His life, you may estimate the value of a soul.”

-- Christ’s Object Lessons, pg.  196.

I have heard much talk, since GYC, about where.

Dozens of us were convinced. There’s no question that we need to go. Now.

But where? Who needs mission work the most?

Let me tell you…

Those souls she’s talking about, in that, one of my favorite quotes…

It matters not whether they are in New York, or Bangkok. Los Angeles, or London. That soul was me. It was you. And it is every other soul on the planet.

Each, worth risking heaven and eternity for, in His sight…

Each of us may devote our lives to mission work.

Each of us can answer the call.

No matter whether we end up in our neighborhood, or 10,000 miles from it.

Let’s go seek the lost, amen?

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

  1. Everywhere souls need Jesus. Our mission field can be our own neighborhood, own church.

    1. Something I'm learning to believe not just intellectually, but by heart.

    2. So true… Even though I may very likely end up in a foreign mission field, in a couple of years or so, I am surely not going to waste the moments I have now! (only by His grace though). I am really hoping to get involved in city missions, my other passion, while I’m waiting. And yes, it needs to be a heart thing… oh, to truly have that…

  2. Truly to know what the real value of soul is,we must look at what Jesus did at Gethsemane and Calvary! Oh that we might feel that burden of lost souls!

    1. Yes... I never feel the burden as much, as when I read about those experiences of Christ. Yes, to feel the burden. Like Christ did... that's what I want so much! Thanks for sharing those thoughts, brother!
