It's a good question. What
doest thou here?
A question I need to ask
myself more often. Probably most of us know where that quote comes
from, in the story of Elijah. He had worked hard for the Lord. In
fact, the day before he started off for this desolate place, he had
fought a battle for the Lord that would be talked of for the rest of
time. But now...? He forgot that the same God that sent fire from
Heaven, would take care of this, too.
But I want to bring
something else out of it.
Listen. Do you hear His
voice? He's saying it to you, today, as He did to Elijah. What doest
thou here, son, or daughter, of God? What is your aim? Why do you do
the things that you do?
Did I
ask you to come here?
I asked you, in Matthew
28:19,20, to go and teach all nations. I asked you to be My
witnesses. But what doest thou here? Are you learning how to become
rich, here? Are you building houses, acquiring lands, here? Are you
caught up in the busyness of life, here?
My brother, my sister!
What doest thou here?
It's a question I am
asking myself. Oh, yes, I want to do mission work. And, my friends,
that doesn't have to mean going to Africa. It can be in your own
backyard. But as much as I want to, am I really going to make the
move, and do it?
Today, Christ asked me:
What doest thou here?
I aim to not let Him down.
Please join me! The road is rough, and I am struggling with
situations and trials, right now as I write! But anything good, is
worth working for.
Let's go for it, friends.
Your brother in Christ,
-Schane
