You are called to lead.

It’s late into the night, yet I cannot sleep. 

My mind digests thoughts of Bible heroes, pioneering heroes, modern day heroes…

Leaders. 

And an unsettling trend disturbs me. In this world, we see followers, many. 

Leaders?

Few.

Why the lack? Why the shortage of those who will do and dare, take risks, share life, light and hope at any cost… ?

I won’t even try to answer that question - it’s probably not worth the effort. But the fact stands that leaders are few. And, instead of mourning over this fact, although we may feel that way - only we can change it. 

You see, God already has a plan for each of us. He tells us that plainly. 

But only we can decide whether we will fulfill that plan. We choose - life of leadership through service like Christ, or life of vain dreams and unfulfilled hopes. 

There’s a few things I’ve noticed about godly leaders.

— They’re humble. Look at Daniel - comparing himself with the wayward Israelites. He’d really chosen them as his mission field, to the point where his identity was with them.

— They have a definite aim. Take Paul, for instance. He shared the Gospel everywhere he went, which is pretty hard to do by accident - you have to be intentional about it.

— Godly leaders spend a lot of time following… God. He’s the only one who can impart leadership skills that will be successful. 

— They will not make small plans. Noah didn’t build a Canoe, and the Gospel wasn’t limited to Jerusalem in the time of the Disciples - the Bible says it went everywhere. Why not now?

This is one lesson I have learned: you can live a perfect life in your pew, and do some good. But to make ripples that will be felt, you will need to exit the comfort zone & do all in your power. You will make mistakes, so did Peter and James. 

Our world is languishing for lack of leaders, young and old.
